WELCOME!
If your child is not walking,
talking or behaving like other children of the same age, you’ve
come
to the
right place. We can answer
your questions if you have any concerns about how your
child is developing.
Long Island Infant Developmental Program
(LIIDP) is a private, nonprofit, home-based early
intervention
and
preschool program that provides services to children age birth to
five years
with developmental delays. Developmental delay is a term
used to indicate that a child is not
reaching developmental milestones
at the expected times.
Did you know that some of the most important
learning that will ever
take place happens by the time children are
4 years old?
That’s
when most children learn to walk, to talk with other people and to
explore the world
around
them.
The
first few years of life are extremely
important to the future growth and
development of
your child. By
learning
more about your child’s growth and development,
you can take
pleasure in
your child’s growth,
yet be aware
of any potential
developmental
issues or concerns.
Please note that all information contained in this website is for

different
rates
and
there is a broad range of "typical" development.
If you have any specific
concerns,
always
contact
your physician before
using any suggestion or treatment.
If…
- you suspect your child is not developing
as he* should be, and milestones are
not
being reached as you thought
they would
- your
child has a specific diagnosed developmental delay or
- you just
think “something isn’t
right”
…it is in these situations
that early help can make a difference.
LIIDP is here to help you make a more informed
decision regarding
your child’s developmental needs.
